Put Passing-On on Your Home Screen

This puts a Passing-On icon on your phone, right next to your other apps. You tap it to open — same as any app, no browser address bar, no typing in a web address. It takes less than a minute and there is nothing to download from an app store.

iPhone or iPad (Safari)

1

Open Passing-On in Safari

Make sure you're using the Safariapp (the blue compass icon) — this doesn't work in Chrome or other browsers on the iPhone.
2

Tap the Share button

Look for the square icon with an arrow pointing up . It's usually at the bottom of the screen (on iPad it may be at the top, next to the address bar).
3

Find "Add to Home Screen"

A menu will pop up with a list of options. Scroll down until you see "Add to Home Screen"and tap it. (You may need to scroll — it's not always at the top.)
4

Tap "Add" in the top corner

iPhone will show you the app name and icon. Just tap "Add" in the top-right corner. Done — the Passing-On icon now appears on your home screen like any other app.

Android Phone or Tablet (Chrome)

1

Look for the Install button above

If you see the blue "Install Passing-On Now" button at the top of this page, just tap it and confirm — you're done in two taps.
2

Don't see a button? Use the menu instead

Tap the three dots in the top-right corner of Chrome.
3

Tap "Install app" or "Add to Home screen"

Chrome will show one of these options in the menu — tap it, then confirm by tapping "Install" or "Add".

Computer (Chrome or Edge)

1

Look at the right side of the address bar

You should see a small icon that looks like a monitor with a down arrow, or a "+" in a box.
2

Click it and choose Install

A small window will pop up asking to install Passing-On. Click "Install". It will now open in its own window from your desktop or taskbar, separate from your browser.

Why bother installing it?

It's just a faster, simpler way to get back into your vault — one tap from your home screen instead of opening a browser and typing an address. Nothing changes about how your information is stored or protected.

Prefer to just use it in your browser? That works perfectly fine too — installing is entirely optional.
